OLRS and several advocacy organizations for the Deaf file amicus brief

OLRS, along with the National Association of the Deaf, the Ohio Association of the Deaf, the Ability Center of Greater Toledo, the Ohio School for the Deaf and Community Services for the Deaf filed an amici curiae brief in the Ohio Supreme Court in the case of State of Ohio v. Speer, asking the Court to reverse the Court of Appeals decision and reinstate the defendant's convictions.

State of Ohio v. Speer involves a juror who was hard of hearing. The defendant argued that the juror should have been dismissed for cause on the basis that the juror was hard of hearing.
