Ohio SSI and the Cost of Rent

In 2000, in Ohio, people with disabilities who received Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits received an average of $512 per month. In Ohio, people with disabilities had to pay an average of 86.1 percent of the monthly SSI benefit to rent a modest, 1-bedroom apartment: over $440 for rent.
