Non-profit advocacy agency for children with disabilities to close

Ohio Protection & Advocacy Association, a non-profit agency located in Cleveland, announced that it will close on June 30 after thirty-two years of service. Prior to OLRS' gubernatorial designation in 1980 as the Protection & Advocacy System, Ohio Protection & Advocacy Association served in that capacity.

The association stated that declining revenues from its main funding source, bingo games, was the primary factor for deciding to close. The association provides special education advocacy on behalf of students with disabilities.
