Input to OLRS

The Ohio Legal Rights Service (OLRS) values public input, in particular, input from people with disabilities and their families. OLRS receives input from people with disabilities through the agency's individual casework. In addition, OLRS requests time on the agendas of statewide disability organizations to discuss OLRS' agency activities and to invite participation in planning.

Input for Agency Priorities

When identifying future agency goals and advocacy priority areas, OLRS increases meaningful public input by conducting forums throughout the state. The purposes of these forums are to inform participants about OLRS' services, to open discussion with people with disabilities and their family members about activities they believe OLRS should focus on, and to hear about any concerns or experiences individuals want to share. Past OLRS forums have been hosted by a community advocacy agency.

Federal law requires OLRS to develop annual programmatic priorities which are open to public comments. OLRS meets this requirement by holding a public hearing each year on its proposed priorities. OLRS encourages individuals with disabilities and their families to attend the public hearing or to provide written comment. Information about this year's public hearing will be posted once the hearing is scheduled. Read OLRS' current agency priorities: OLRS Agency Priorities.
