The State of Ohio's Needs and Resource Assessment
of Individuals with Brain Injuries and Their Families

Acknowledgements

Ohio Legal Rights Service (OLRS) would like to acknowledge and thank the people and organizations that helped create this document. OLRS acknowledges the Rehabilitation Services Commission (RSC), through the Ohio Brain Injury Advisory Committee, for seeing the merit of this project and for financially supporting it. OLRS also thanks Nancy Harry, Brain Injury Program Director at RSC, Sherri Lowe, Deputy Director of Consumer Affairs at RSC, and Suzanne Minnich, Executive Director of the Brain Injury Association of Ohio, for their support and guidance. OLRS especially thanks the Brain Injury Association of Ohio for its assistance in disseminating the surveys to individuals, families, and providers.

This project could not have been undertaken without the assistance of several key OLRS staff persons: Maureen Crossmaker, Julianne Johnson, Kim McConnell and Daphne Meimaridis. This team worked tirelessly and persistently to analyze the survey responses and to present the findings and recommendations in a meaningful way to individuals with brain injury, their families and policymakers.

Special recognition also goes to Carolyn S. Knight, Executive Director of OLRS, and Tim Tobin, Policy Director, whose leadership and direction were indispensable.

Lastly, and most importantly, OLRS acknowledges, and gives credit to the people who took part in the survey. We thank them for their time and their effort, and for the honesty and passion with which they answered the survey questions.

It is the intention of OLRS that the information contained in this document will be used to develop a system of supports for individuals who have brain injury and for their families.
