The Unfinished Revolution: Freedom of people with disabilities

National exhibit and film premier of Lest We Forget: Silent Voices & Discussion, a film that chronicles the lives of people with disabilities who have lived in Ohio's institutions.

Resiliency Forum (Children's Mental Health)

Forum will teach ways to nurture and support a child with mental health issues and the family to become stronger, happier, and more resilient. Child care (ages 3 and up) available only with RSVP by August 12, 2008.

Free Assistive Technology Training - Tango!

This is a free training on the newest version of Tango!, an augmentative communication device for children. The Tango! can hold over 2,500 enhanced digital phrases and uses CORE language principles to help users build sentences quickly and effectively. It has a built-in camera and a storage feature where you can build your own photo albums with verbal descriptions. It also has a program that helps children develop their imaginations with story-creation software.

OAAAA Annual Conference on Aging

This is the 20th year for this annual conference, offering many sessions about issues facing Ohio's aging citizens and the aging network. Examples of some of the topics include a discussion about aging and disability resource centers, information about the Ohio Benefit Bank, and updates on Money Follows the Person, the Unified Long-Term Care Budget, and other initiatives.

The Power of Peers

This conference provides a peer-centered perspective for individuals living with depression or bipolar disorder as well as for family members or health care providers looking for ways to best help their loved-ones, patients or clients by partnering with them on their path to recovery. Conference includes educational workshops, pre- and post-conference institutes, and a lineup of renowned keynote speakers.

Community Employment: A Priority of First Consideration
